Friends’ interventions in preschool are based on the whole school approach and aim to support the mapping and the analysis of the activity/operation, as well as to develop measures for the preventive work and in fostering a safe environment. Children’s safety and enjoyment, instances of degrading treatment and harassments, and the equal treatment work in preschool are mapped based on the experiences of the staff. All preschool staff receives knowledge to understand the presence of degrading treatment and tools to develop concrete measures based on the specific situation of the preschool. Guardians are given the opportunity to discuss their own, other guardians’ and the preschool’s role in fostering a safe environment. Through method materials aimed at both staff and children we provide the opportunity to continuously proceed with the efforts to create a safe preschool where everyone is included.
